Haitian Relief Efforts
It is coming on six months since the
devastating earthquake ravaged the Haitian population centers. We
continue our desire to assist the people left homeless and
unemployed by the aftereffects.
Our immediate efforts produced an enormous
response with medical and clothing supplies, and other materials.
The great need continues. Watch for the next level of appeals. You
can donate at any time, however, cash being the most liquid asset
for getting relief where needed. Fr. Yves will continue as our
coordinator for distributing donations.
Bishop Barbarito
will lead a Memorial Mass on June 12 at 6:30pm to honor those killed
by the earthquake.

Knights of Columbus
Protecting Families For Generations
Two Incomes Equals Two Insurance
Needs
In the
days of "Ozzie and Harriet," most families fit one description.
Fathers worked full-time, while mothers remained home, raising
the kids and taking care of the house. Today, while some
families still fall into the traditional, one-paycheck category,
many others rely on two incomes to make ends meet - even if one
parent works part-time or from home.
“The
more things change, the more they remain the same.” This maxim
certainly holds true with life insurance planning. If someone
earns an income to support a family, family-income protection
through life insurance is of utmost importance.
As your
Knights of Columbus agent, I'll be happy to provide a
customized-needs analysis for both of you. I'll take into
consideration the amount and the sources of your income, and
suggest different ways to provide sufficient life insurance
coverage for you and your family. You take it for granted that
you and your family should get an annual checkup from your
doctor. But you'd also benefit from an annual financial checkup.
Now's the time, because chances are, your life and your
financial obligations become more complicated each year.
Call me. I'll be glad
to meet with you both to discuss your options.

Form 100 – Never leave home without it!
Are you
carrying a Form 100 right now? That’s the question to every
Knight should ask himself. The Membership Document (Form 100) is
one item that is absolutely vital to the recruitment of any new
member into our Order. Every Knight should not leave home
without it. And use it to bring your friends, neighbors,
coworkers, into the Council.
The best way
to recruit a member is to have a Form 100 in hand.

Council Officers – Election June 14, 2010
What is Expected of the Men who Serve?
The
Constitution which guides the operations of the Knights of
Columbus requires that annually there should be an election of
Officers in each subordinate Council. Lists of the incumbents
and nominees are posted herein.
“All officers, except the
Financial Secretary, Lecturer and Chaplain, shall be elected
annually, by ballot at a regular business meeting between the
fifteenth day of May to and including the fifteenth day of June.

office for a term of one year from the first day of July
following, and until their successors are elected and

Council ByLaws permit
officers to stand for renewal of election to their respective
offices. To assist with the process of election, a Nominating
Committee is appointed to search out and qualify candidates, and
their list is presented to the Council at large at the May
business meeting. The list is also published in this newsletter.

accepted from the floor, if seconded and acknowledged by the
candidate, to permit fair contest to those named by the
committee. Spirited elections are encouraged.
